A Ugandan soldier serving with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) reacts to incoming fire during a firefight 23 May 2012 in bushland west of Deynile towards the Afgoye Corridor, in an area north-west of the Somali capital Mogadishu. AMISOM and Somali National Army (SNA) forces continued for a second day to push out to the west of Mogadishu in a major offensive called 'Operation Free Shabelle' to liberate Afgoye Town and the 400,000 internally displaced people living there, from the control of the Al Qaeda-affiliated extremist group Al Shabaab.
